SXKONDO come from Switzerland and were created in 2012 as a Hardcore band, heavily influenced by BOTCH and early CONVERGE. They released a split EP with OREGON TRAIL back in 2014 which helped them tour with bands like NAPALM DEATH, LIFE AS WAR and many more. After six years they are releasing a 3 pieces EP of pure Hardcore.

SXOKONDO (pronounced shock-hondo) is a word from Esperanto meaning shockwave. Esperanto is an artificial language made from European language elements and was created by Ludwik Lazarz Zamenhof in 1887 in order to provide an easier communication between European citizens. This EP contains 3 songs whose average duration is 6 minutes. The songs are full of energy and power where the main factor is the switching between mid tempo riffing and Hardcore galloping. In “Last Circle” we can hear some Noisy Rock aspects that make the listener feel disoriented, while the vocals sound fiery-yet tenacious and the rhythm section is solid.

This EP addresses to BOTCH and early CONVERGE fans who will find it interesting. For the rest, SXOKONDO neither are reinventing the circle nor adding any innovation, they just perform passionate, modern Hardcore and this is an acknowledgement.
