SEPTAGON is a German Thrash / Speed Metal band, which has been active since 2013, while in 2016 they released their first album, “Deadhead Syndicate”. In 2021, the Germans return to the discography, by releasing their third full-length work “We Only Die Once”.
Although their place of origin should refer us to giants of German Teutonic Thrash Metal, like SODOM, KREATOR and DESTRUCTION, these Germans decided to draw influences from their colleagues on the other side of the Atlantic, bringing with their compositions in mind North American Thrash Metal bands such as ANNIHILATOR and FLOTSAM & JETSAM.
So instead of listening to the most angry and dark German Thrash, we listen to more melodic things, without implying that there is no speed or heaviness in the 10 songs that make up their new release. There are also heavy riffs and speeds able to satisfy the fans of the genre, but everything is more “rounded”, more melodic and clear.
The very strong opening song of the album “Demon Divine” shows from the beginning the intentions of SEPTAGON and the style of the album, thus continuing melodically with “The Rant” and the very beautiful “How To Kill The Boogeyman”. Until the last song of the album “Ekke Nekkepenn”, if anything characterizes their compositions, it is that they flow pleasantly, they are catchy, they stay in your mind and you want to hear them again. A very beautiful, third offer and proposal from the Germans that will not disappoint.
