NOMEN ILLI MORS, is a Greek one man band originally from Ioannina, where the origin of their founder and only member, Christos Siatiris. The band, although only in 2018 released their first full-length album under the name “The Curse”, was founded in 1996, releasing three demos from 1998 to 2002, “Promo’98”, “The Garden Of Secrets” and “Homo Destructus”.

“A Collection Of Thorns”, is a collection, containing fourteen compositions from the band’s demos, which aims to re-establish the band to the Greek audience, presenting the songs re-mixed, so that they have a better sound.

The band plays Thrash Metal, the traditional of the ’80s we would say and obviously all its songs move around this axis. Despite the beautiful compositions, however, somewhere the continuous same structure but also the long duration of the album, may tire the listener.

The songs, from a synthetic point of view, contain very good ideas and that alone will keep the listener. Songs like “Impossible To Cure”, “Psycho”, “The Caravan Of Lost Souls”, “Idol Of pain” and “Homo Destructus”, with clear references but also influences from the American representatives of the genre, definitely have their interest. But if the album is lame somewhere, it is in the production and mixing of the songs.

The beautiful compositions can raise NOMEN ILLI MORS. But as long as there is no fixed members and musicians to frame their founder, the poor production and the convincing but yet drum machine, will not allow them to level up and their admittedly beautiful ideas, will be buried under a production that is not worthy of them.
