For the ones who already don’t know it, ACID DEATH is a progressive Death/Thrash metal band from Athens-Greece, quite influenced from bands like DEATH, CORONER and ATHEIST. They are one of the oldest bands in the Greek metal scene, with 30 years of existence. Now, four years after the release of their previous album “Hall Of Mirrors”, ACID DEATH return with their sixth full-length album entitled “Primal Energies”.

“Primal Energies” has 10 songs. From the first note someone can realize the band’s “thirst” for music creation, a fact that gives freshness to the final result. ACID DEATH sound more melodic, however they’ve also added new ideas in their compositions e.g. in the song “My Bloody Crown”(album opener) we can find solo from a saxophone or in “Reality And Fear” there are many “ethnic” elements. In other songs, apart from the classical forms of technical Death/Thrash CORONER-ish style, the sound has elements from many types of Rock/Metal such as Power/Epic, even post rock! A proof that the band can combine in their style harmoniously, many types of music.

The production of Tommy Vetterli (Coroner) in collaboration with the sound engineer Martin Zeller reaches perfection! Crystal and clear, it shows the skills of the band members. Also worth mentioning, the great cover artwork by Yiannis Nakos (Remedy Art Design).

ACID DEATH return with their most mature album of their career, the band dares to explore new music paths and push their sound one step forward. “Primal Energies” is one of the best records of the year and personally I believe that this record is the top moment in ACID DEATH career.
