TRIVIUM’s vocalist/guitarist Matthew Heafy will be playing a key role in the upcoming new album by Japanese Metal band, GYZE. Heafy will be helping produce, co-write and even guest on the next album, which is the fifth in the band’s history.

GYZE’s recent works such as “Asian Chaos” and “Samurai Metal” caught his attention and after building a friendship with Ryoji (Gt/Vo), Matthew agreed to produce the next album, which led to this announcement.

Matthew is a Japanese-American born in Iwakuni, Yamaguchi Prefecture. He has released a number of albums related to Japan and in 2010 he launched IBARAKI, a project influenced by Black Metal and Japanese history. The album will include a collaboration between Matthew and Ryoji, and will be a Japanese Metal sound that the world will pay attention to!
