“Undress Your Madness” is the much-awaited PRETTY MAIDS’ album, after the “critical” and commercially successful release of 2016’s “Kingmaker”. It’s an album that continues through a refreshing track, a series of good records, like the most classical ones “Pandemonium” and “Motherland”. It’s not always the easiest thing to “keep in shape”, but “Undress Your Madness” shows that PRETTY MAIDS “have it” even though they are definitely getting a second “youth”, as most of the “old” bands nowadays.

The production “sparkles” thanks to Jacob Hansen (VOLBEAT), who has given the band a freshness that not only rejuvenates, but simultaneously manages and integrates the “feeling” of the past, connecting the modern with the all-time classic at the same time. Atkins’ voice, like the old good wine is getting better and better as the years go by. “Threatening” on one hand, while within seconds, it changes and becomes calming on the other. Hammer also releases quite heavy riffs throughout the record. However, in this album there is a lack of the “epic” element in the song structure and especially in the “sharp” guitar sound, for which PRETTY MAIDS are well known.

Noteworthy songs are the “catchy” launch “Serpentine”, their thunderous homage as well as their “electrified” hit “Black Thunder”. Also here we will find nice timeless melodic “radio” moments in the tunes of “Firesoul Fly” and “Will You Still Kiss Me (If I See You In Heaven)” or even a wonderful power metal ballad like “Shadowlands”.

“Undress Your Madness” is an album that flows quickly. Hard ‘n’ Heavy power then again maximized, like a black lightning bolt, but this time with BRYAN ADAMS making a wink to us. Fans of the kind check it out!
