Loyal to the date with their fans, the German dark metal pioneers NACHTBLUT give us their sixth work, three years after the successful “Apostasie”. The quartet from Osnabrück come to shake us once more with the social issues they present to us in each of their albums, for 15 years now, through their special music. And the truth is that in their new work they present to us a mix of melodic Gothic/Black metal adding to every single song a different musical approach. You will find from Electronic and Industrial to Folk paths in the album.

The journey in the dark starts with the instrumental “Veritas” which is the precursor of the opening “Vanitas”. The word “Vanitas” is a term that the 17th century painters used to show us destiny in life through symbols in their paintings.

A powerful start with Askeroth giving the best of him, both in the clean but also in the brutal vocals. The sequel is pleasantly surprising with “Leierkinder”. A wonderful Folk melody covers the song while the choir in the chorus takes it off. One of the best moments. “Das Puppenhaus” is a “claustrophobic” ballad that continues in the same pattern. Every song and a different sound and the surprises don’t stop here. The influences from RAMMSTEIN are obvious in “Kaltes Herz”, while in “Nur In Der Nacht” electronic music combines beautifully with Askeroth’s vocals, in a song that is doomed to become a success, bringing in mind sounds of the 80s! Crematory is another love of NAGHTBLUT. This is clear in “Furchtet Was Geschrieben Steht”, a modern gothic song which could easily be pa part of the last album of Felix. The cooperation with Chris Harms of LORD OF THE LOST in “Schmerz & Leid” gives us a wonderful modern result. Catchy song with powerful chorus that reminds of RAMMSTEIN’s “Pussy”. Listening to “Meine Grausamkeit Kennt Keine Grenzen” automaticaly CRADDLE OF FILTH come in mind, with Askeroth’s grunt being exactly the same as Dani Filth’s, while ”Gegen Die Gotter” takes of you incredible emotions, maybe the best moment of the album, with a chorus that for sure it will stick in your mind. For the finale, we have the seven minute “Die Toten Vergessen Nicht”, referring to remembering the dead and completes with the best way the German’s work.

Three out of four members of NACHTBLUT (Askeroth, Skoll, Greif) are in the band from the start, with Ablaz being with them from their previous work. So the result sounds complete, as the production is excellent too. The sixth album of the Germans is a total album of the dark space, having combined many species in a unique result. The “Neue Deutsche Harte” stage keeps having strong releases!

Du und ich gegen die gotten – You and me against gods.
