With their new live album “Live From The Apocalypse”, the Italian Gothic Metallers LACUNA COIL, try to record the course of life in the music community, in the midst of COVID-19 pandemic.
The album contains a live webcast given by LACUNA COIL at the Alcatraz Club in Milan, Italy, in September 2020. The singer Cristina Scabbia addresses the audience during the album (although there are, of course, no immediate answers, since was no physical audience present..), distinguishing this album from other online live recordings.
LACUNA COIL, however, perform an impressive and powerful performance, reaching such a volume that they are heard inviting the listeners, wherever they are, to participate at the journey which the band has begun.
The melancholy and drama contained in these songs, enhanced by the very good sound and performance of LACUNA COIL, promises a special, fantastic journey, once you start the album. “Live From The Apocalypse” is a journey into shady and ominous, threatening areas outside of ours, but the pandemic has opened a door to them. The conversation with the non-existent audience, the presence of the band, emphasize this post-apocalyptic, strange environment.
Most of the songs included here, come from the last complete album of the band “Black Anima” of 2019, wanting to present live the atmosphere in there. The Italians offer us a special experience, which will be appreciated by fans and friends of good music. Another reminder from artists of the metal fixture, of the strange and unprecedented times we live in.
