ISGHERURD MORTH comes from the frozen and vast forests of Siberia. The band was created by Res and Pitom of KAMMATH, while on the drums is found Ghoul from SADIST, who had played in BENIGHTED and NECROPHAGIST among others. The group was formed in 2015 but only this year they managed to release their first musical effort entitled “Hellrduk”.

Five compositions in 35 minutes of music for ISGHERURD MORTH in this debut.  Their music style wanders through the vast paths of Progressive Avant-Garde Black Metal. The album is characterized by unusual melodies with a technical style, without intense complexity, touching the limits of the experimental while, at the same time, escaping the narrow limits of the Black Metal genre. There are also some influences from the Death Metal sound giving “Hellrduk” an interesting character, for the most open-minded fans. The songs are characterized by flexibility, which is their strongest sign, while the atmosphere of the album exudes a feeling of “discomfort” due to the bass, which is not buried while the guitars sound “massive” with memorable riffs.

“Hellrduk” is really interesting and, in some parts, it reminded me of ENSLAVED’s musical approach in Avant Garde Black Metal style. The debut album of ISGHEURD MORTH is a daring venture that needs several dedicated auditions to absorb you in its darkness and win you with its modernity, as it escapes the traditional borders of the genre.
