Veleno, noun [ masculine ] /ve’leno/ a potion or substance, that when inserted into the body affects the tissues, causes paralysis or even death.

And that is exactly what FLESHGOD APOCALYPSE’s fifth studio album does!

Ten years after their first album, F.A. celebrate with a concept album on the natural and allegorical poisons of life, drugs, the human relations and toxic people. Taken out of the worst nightmares, the poison they spit out burns every bridge that connects with their past and opens a new, more creative path.

One might say that they have slowed down, since the blastbeats of “Agony” and “Oracles” are restricted in order to give more room for the band to “breathe”. And that’s partly caused by the creative craftsmanship and the band’s sophistication, and the crucial reestablishment of Francesco Paoli as the band’s frontman that gives a uniqueness and character in the coherence of the tracks.

I could write for hours about this record. The composing quality of the tracks is excellent and the production solid as a rock. That’s a record that if I had to use only two words to describe, these would be: EXTRAVAGANT PERFECTION

“Poison is in everything, and no thing is without poison. The dosage makes it either a poison or a remedy”.
Paracelsus (1493-1541) father of toxicology
