Here comes this “great” time for the second album of Texas true Heavy Metallers. The heroic metal in its greatness! From beginning to end, “Ravening iron” is a pure heroic metal record. Through the vibrant colors of the cover (which could be better) by Ken Kelly that are reminiscent of Frank Franzeta and Robert E. Howard (Conan the Barbarian’s spiritual father), the vibrant tones of mixing and production and the lively fantasy lyrics, a whole world is created in our imagination that you just want to get lost in its magic.

The overwhelmingly epic riffs and recitations of hero stories from other “barbaric” eras with the more improved and “restrained” vocals by Tarpey, which tend to the style of their other musical fathers Manilla Road, manage to create an epic and glorious atmosphere worthy for releases of this genre. This time we are talking about a better job with more coherence and professionalism than their previous “The Armor Of Ire”. The “concert hit” equivalent of “I Am The Hammer” is of course not missing this time either, since listening to the new “Skullseeker” I am sure that several punches, swords, axes and war flags will be raised in the air at their live concerts!

In short, we have an album that includes the whole package of true “heavy metal”: “riffs”, a good “hit”, a magical atmosphere with fantastic epic heroes (Elric, Conan The Barbarian) and a cover with “tits”! Jokes aside, it’s a pretty good album. Especially the Greek fans of the band, who have been waiting for it for so long, will love it and will surely have pre-ordered their box set!
