In Sweden, Death Metal has its own history through iconic bands such as AEON, which returns at the spotlight of the European scene after a silent journey of nine years of musical absence.

This monstrous new album alternates eleven-brutally executed songs with five small but exquisite transitions, with a formidable sense of the technicality, intermingled with an unbearable series of vocal imprecations which might remind to some of us the flow of DEICIDE’s Glen Benton.

The dark and macabre cover comes to mind while listening to the ninth self-titled song of the album: “God Ends Here”. The latter is a huge hymn hammered with great supports from an oratorical chorus, marked by a big rhythmic flight in an anti-christian violence. AEON proudly returns with eleven plus five songs of absolute destruction, to defend its singular place with a brutal death album of excellent infernal vintage.

Used to share the international stages with their American friends CANNIBAL CORPSE, we bet that those two formations will be able to raise hell on an upcoming show, where their new pleasurable songs “Church Of Horror”, “Just One Kill” and “Queen Of Lies” will know how to make you completely addicted and attentive in front of so much instrumental expertise deployed in abundance.

This fifth apocalyptic album of AEON is a great addition in an already packed discography and maybe a pivotal jewel of a rich career. Lose yourself in the dark abyss to these loyal seasoned mercenaries of AEON, who are already celebrating their 22 years of existence.
